The geographical indication application of Azdavay Folk Costumes applied by Kastamonu Azdavay Municipality was concluded with registration.
The hand-crafted costume consists of head covering with motifs unique to the Kastamonu region, shalwar pants, floral patterned loose robe in blue, yellow and red, and embroidered vest, waistcloth and a colorful apron whose dominant colors are orange, blue and yellow.
Azdavay Folk Costumes, which also have taken their place in the world folklore literature, is still a living tradition. The folk dress is frequently worn by local women, especially in bazaar set up on wednesdays.
